Hi there! I'm DJ. I am an intermediate digital artist from Portland, Oregon. My number one passion is to experience God tangibly and know Him personally. My number two passion is to see you get zapped in the Holy Ghost...I'll tell you about that in a bit.
Some of my hobbies include graphic design, playing guitar, virtual reality gaming, dream interpretation, bible word studies, watching vintage Toronto Blessing videos, attending Spirit-filled conferences, and of course, drinking (especially with friends)... but not as you suppose.
In 2017, I started creating beautiful custom T-shirts as a fundraiser to attend a school of ministry. Little did I know that this fun little experiment was the beginning of my own business. "Get Zapped" is the name I chose for this venture. If you haven't figured it out yet, the name speaks of "getting zapped by the Holy Spirit."
Are you curious about all this "Holy Spirit" and "drinking" stuff? Let me share with you about how it all began!
A distorted selfie I took of myself before I Met the Lord. As you can see, I was really into "call of duty".
Growing up Christian, I never knew a relationship with God was possible. I knew how to pray, but I didn't know that God would answer. In high school, I fell the deep dark pit of high school relationships—rejected by my best friend.
One night I was so broken that I wished I had never existed. As I sat on my bedroom floor crying, I spontaneously cried out to God in my misery, "Jesus! Please take this from me! It's too much for me to handle. I give it to You, I give it to You!"
Suddenly, I was not depressed anymore. I just no longer cared. It was so unexpected. God actually answered my prayer! Who knew that He did such things?! Forgiveness flowed effortlessly from my soul and I went to school the next day as if nothing had ever happened.
In the midst of all this, I was also dealing with a bully. Well, maybe "bully" isn't the right word. He was quite a fun and outgoing kid―however, he kept annoyingly punching me whenever he saw me at school. I tried my best to ignore him, but then I had this idea to distract him with friendly conversation and jokes. My plan worked. It actually worked so well that he went from bullying me to chasing after me to be his friend. This wasn't what I had expected. From that point forward, he escorted me to all my classes and drove me crazy.
At the start of the next year, I had an encounter with God that changed my life forever. It was a Wednesday night in January 2014 at my youth church. As we were laying hands on each other and praying, I felt the Spirit of God touch my heart. The sensation was like a warm love burning in my chest. Inwardly, I was awakened to the reality of God and I felt so special to Him. I knew He had chosen me for such a time as this. These encounters continued happening to me at every consecutive church service. As a result, I became a new person. God's love filled the emptiness inside my soul. I no longer needed an (earthly) relationship to meet my needs. I was taken; taken by the Lord.
Arriving back at school, I spotted my "escort" at the door. Instead of getting upset with him like usual, I couldn't help but greet him as if he had always been my friend. Inside my mind I was thinking, "You're lucky today. I do NOT want to be nice to you. You don't deserve this." But because of God's love so deeply permeating my soul, I could not resist the urge to be kind. Eventually, this guy ended up following me to church and giving his life to Christ! Glory to God!

"Why has no one ever told me about this?!" I thought to myself. Having been raised in church, no one had ever told me that God wanted us to know Him experientially before we die. I had heard of "life-after-death" experiences, but not of "life-before-death" experiences―that is, the manifest life of God that heals and transforms the human soul.
Encountering this divine love so touched and transformed me in my state of brokenness that I now desire everyone I meet to also experience God. And to the one who grew up in Christian religion but never had a supernatural experience with God―let me tell you, there is more!
Every person was created with a need for satisfaction. Mankind's original habitat was called the "Garden of Eden." The Hebrew word "Eden" means "pleasure." We were created to live in bliss. We were created to know our Creator and to experience the ecstasy of His wonderful love. Psalm 34:8 (TPT) says, "Drink deeply of the pleasures of this God. Experience for yourself the joyous mercies he gives to all who turn to hide themselves in him." If you too would like to step into the most exciting and fulfilling adventure of your life, just willingly pray this prayer with me,
"Lord God, I want to know You personally. Reveal Yourself to me! Satisfy the longings of my soul. Thank you for forgiving all my sins and making me a new creation through the death and resurrection of Your Son Jesus Christ. Thank you for sending me Your Holy Spirit to comfort, heal, lead, and empower me to fulfill my divine purpose. I am Yours.
Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts: And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Amen." (Psalm 139:23-24).
You make known to me the path of life;
In Your presence there is fullness of joy;
At Your right hand are pleasures forevermore."
― Psalm 16:11 ―
